On Friday, August 16th, 2024, Golden Generation program was officially launched at the Ruang Publik Terpadu Ramah Anak (RPTRA) Delas, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta. Golden Generation is a social initiative resulting from the collaboration between Bright Future Foundation, Kitabisa, and Treasury, aimed at improving the quality of life for street children in Indonesia.

Representatives from the South Jakarta Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Office (Dinas PPAPP), Stephanie Rengkung as Founder and Advisor of Bright Future Foundation, and Ellysabeth Ratih as Business Manager of Kitabisa, attended the launch event.

The event featured a dance performance by children from RPTRA Delas, speeches from Kitabisa and Bright Future Foundation representatives, also the Head of Kebayoran Lama District. It also included an introduction to Treasury as a brand and a symbolic handover of goodie bags, essential food items, and school supplies to beneficiaries.

Street children in Indonesia often lack access to the education and training necessary to improve their lives. Moreover, they face various challenges, such as violence and exploitation. Golden Generation program aims to address these issues by providing a comprehensive support system that includes scholarships, educational supplies, and character development activities.

Golden Generation program will benefit 20 street children aged 14 to 29 in Jakarta. The scholarship support includes informal education (Kejar Paket B and C) at Pusat Kegiatan Belajar Masyarakat (PKBM) Kawis in South Jakarta. Beneficiaries will receive soft skill and character development training, parenting classes for their parents, and complete learning support packages. Additionally, the parents of beneficiaries will receive monthly allowances and essential food supplies.

This program will run for one year, from July 2024 to July 2025, with a structured plan that includes initial assessments for scholarship recipient selection, ongoing program support, and final evaluations to measure the program’s impact on beneficiaries.

Support will be provided through visits to monitor their educational progress. The program aims to enhance beneficiaries’s life skills, help them secure decent employment in the future, and improve their economic and overall well-being.

The collaboration between Bright Future Foundation and Kitabisa through Golden Generation program aligns with their commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including efforts to alleviate poverty by providing access to education and character training for street children. It also contributes to the goal of quality education by offering access to informal education (Kejar Paket) and skills training for street children who lack formal education opportunities. The program prepares street children with the skills necessary to obtain decent jobs and aims to reduce disparities by providing equal access to education and training for economically disadvantaged children.

Bright Future Foundation is committed to positively impacting society by leveraging its resources and network to support Golden Generation’s social initiative. The partnership with Kitabisa aligns with the foundation’s mission to create a better future by contributing to the welfare of those in need.

“We believe that every Indonesian child deserves equal opportunities in education, enabling them to realize their dreams and hopes for a better future,” said Stephanie Rengkung, Founder of Bright Future Foundation. “Through our collaboration with Kitabisa, we aim to create a long-term impact on the lives of street children by providing them with the tools and support they need to break the cycle of poverty,” she added.

“Golden Generation program is a manifestation of our commitment, alongside Treasury and Bright Future Foundation, to provide opportunities for street children. Through this program, we invite all parties, individuals and companies, to join in giving marginalized communities access to quality education,” said Edo Irfandi, Chair of Kitabisa.
